Pardon Our Dust…

Sorry for the mess. It’s been a long time since I’ve meandered back in here, so there’s been a lot of stuff to try and take care of! After wading through literally 700+ spam comments, I think we’re finally ready to set up shop again and get this place back in gear.

As it’s my last semester in college, I’ve decided to pretend I really did go to art school and signed up for all art classes (except for my one creative writing course needed to finish that minor) and thus, I’m gonna have a lot of crap to put up here. Hopefully that means we’ll all get to see some improvement over the coming months. If not…well, at least it’ll be fun, right? :D

Anyhoo. I’ve been talking it over with our incredible webmaster (my brother) and we’ve got some other pretty big plans in store for everybody who’s been keeping up with us or once used to. I think you’ll enjoy it.

Art Blog 02-28-11

So, finally got around to re-scanning the first page of TBC and have officially finished coloring THE FIRST PANEL. [fanfare] I figured you kids wouldn’t mind if I wanted to share.

Yep yep. I’ve been experimenting a lot with how I color things, and so far this looks juuust about how I want it to. Desaturated colors, a blue overtone to it (as it seems every horror movie in the past 10 years has had) and…well, an actual method to the madness.

Previously, I was very slipshod in my color schemes, not quite pleased with anything that I did, although I tried to make it as fancy as possible. This is the beginning of my attempts to remedy that.

Oh yeah, and in case you’re interested, here’s the lineart of the first page. I’ll upload others later. For those with keen eyes, you’ll notice that it’s pretty…well, not sized correctly – that is to say, it’s too wide for a standard comic book page – but I intend to fix that at some point too.
